The dedicated women of the North Dade-Broward County Chapter of Continental Societies, Incorporated welcome you to our website as we celebrate 10 years of serving children and youth in our communities! The Continental Societies, Inc., a public service organization, dedicated to the social, economic and cultural welfare of underprivileged children and youth, was organized in 1956 and incorporated nationally in 1972. The North Dade-Broward County Chapter was installed as a member chapter of Continental Societies on March 16, 2002. Since our inception, we have been committed to addressing the needs of youth in the national organization's focus areas and initiatives through partner schools, centers, and various youth organizations. North Dade-Broward County Chapter members use their energy and talents from a range of professions including education, juvenile services, information technology, insurance, and finance to implement youth programs and activities.

Continental Societies, Incorporated embraces 45 chapters in 19 states of the USA, the District of Columbia, and Bermuda that sponsor and implement programs for youth. These programs are in accordance with the organization's national programmatic thrust, "OPERATION AWARENESS: HEER (Health, Education, Employment, Recreation) plus the Arts and Humanities". National and local programs include clothing and shoe drives for needy school children, asthma and diabetes awareness, college and career conferences, adopt-a-school projects, kids voting U.S.A., youth golf tournaments and book fairs. Continental volunteer their time to work in homes for the mentally retarded and emotionally disturbed youth, hospital pediatric wards, inner city housing projects as well as schools and youth centers. For the fiscal year ending June 30, 2011, the organization collectively recorded 185,977 volunteer hours and served 195,807 children.
